- California, New Jersey, North Dakota, Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Utah and West Virginia headline the list of states with business opportunities.
With Marijuana expected to become a $75 Billion business by 2022, many more states are taking steps to partake in the industry.
Below is a list of business opportunities by state
California : The Bureau of Cannabis Control is currently accepting applications for recreational marijuana business licenses.
New Jersey : The state Senate and Assembly budget committees voted to advance the “New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory and Expungement Aid Modernization Act” to legalize recreational marijuana and the “New Jersey Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act” to expand the existing medical marijuana program.
North Dakota : The remaining four regions of Devils Lake, Dickinson, Jamestown, and Minot will likely be accepting dispensary liscences as per the Department of Health.
Maine : The state is in the process of drafting the regulatory rules for licensing, inspection, taxes, and other details for establishing recreational marijuana market.
Massachusetts : Recreational business licences are being accepted by the cannabis control commission.
Missouri : A new program for legalization for medical was voted in by Missouri residents on November 6, 2018 is expected to accept license applications and open by August 3, 2019
Michigan : Medical Marijuana license applications are currently being accepted. Recreational marijuana was legalized on November 6, 2018 and business licenses are expected to become available in 2019.
Montana : Currently accepting applications for medical marijuana providers, infused product providers, and dispensaries.
Nevada : Expected to begin accepting business recreational licenses in 2019.
Oklahoma : Currently accepting business medical marijuana applications.
Utah : Expected to open the licensing of medical marijuana businesses through a competitive application process anticipated to open by June 2019.
West-Virginia : The state is currently in the process of drafting rules/regulations to implement their medical marijuana program and a process for business applications.
